SUMMER CAMP

At Summer Camp the days are full and the days are fun! Here is a glimpse at what some of the activities at Camp Tamarack could be! Every camper is sure to find something they enjoy with all of these choices! Here are some the terms that we use to organize our days:

WEEKLY CLASSES

A class that campers sign up for on the first night of camp. They participate in for an hour each day and build on their skills to create a final product! These classes vary every summer and we offer more than 12 unique classes every week!

DAILY ACTIVITIES

Unique classes that last about an hour offered each day! They include everything from arts and crafts projects, to games on the sports courts, to waterfront fun!

OPEN RECREATION

Each afternoon we open the Waterfront, Hobby House (for crafting), the sports courts, and our indoor living room for campers to explore and structure their own afternoons.

FLAT ON BUNK (FOB)

Rest hour that takes place every day after lunch. It is a great chance to write letters home, do some summer reading, or just recharge for a little bit!

YOGA Campers relax on the stage with a morning yoga flow!	WIZARDING The Wizarding Weekly Class design their own wands, mix potions, and practice casting spells around camp!	GRANDMAS IN TRAINING The G.I.T. Weekly Class was a camp favorite in 2022 with their knitting, water aerobics, baking, and BINGO!
SOCCER The Extreme Sports Weekly Class had a soccer themed day in 2022!	THEATRE The Theatre Weekly Class had fun playing improv games and putting on a performance at our final campfire!	JOURNALISM The Journalism Weekly Class published a newsletter for all of camp to enjoy at breakfast including interviews, photos, comics, and more!
ENGINEERING Campers are challenged to build the strongest structure possible using just toothpicks and marshmallows!	PADDLE BOARDING Offered throughout most of the day at camp, campers can take out a paddle board with a buddy and explore all that Dark Lake has to offer. Or, they can sit on them in the middle of the lake and just enjoy dipping their toes in the water!	ARTS & CRAFTS We spend plenty of time crafting away in the Hobby House, making all sorts of camp projects. For weekly & daily activities as well as open recreation time, the Hobby House is a favorite of many campers!
ARCHERY We have both archery blast (with foam tipped arrows) as well as a traditional archery range to offer campers as a daily activity!	TAMARACK OLYMPICS Each evening the campers participate in the "Tamarack Olympics!" Campers join a team that competes in various events throughout the week!	T-SHIRT PRINTING One of the weekly classes that has been around for a few years is tee-shirt printing! This weekly class is designed for campers to learn how to design and make their own stencil and then paint it onto a shirt (don’t worry- we provide the shirts)!
CAMPFIRE We love to have campfires at Camp Tamarack! Whether it is camper skits, staff skits or just learning to sing campy songs together, we are always entertained!	CARNIVAL Our evening activity on the last full night of camp is the all camp carnival! We have games, a raffle, snacks and fun all around! This is a night that the campers will not forget!	GAGA BALL A camp classic, available every afternoon this game is a fan favorite with campers of all ages and abilities being able to succeed.
SPLASH MOUNTAIN The tallest feature of our waterfront is 12 feet tall and allows campers to climb, slide or even jump from the top into the clear waters of Dark Lake!	SWIMMING With all that is going on at the waterfront, sometimes it's just nice to relax in the swimming area or slide down the slide. The water is clear and refreshing all summer long!	SCOOTER GAMES When the gaga pit isn’t being used for its traditional purpose it gets transformed into a scooter game arena! From hungry hippos to relay races, these scooters are sure to inspire lots of giggles.
CANOEING Ready for a relaxing tour of Dark Lake? Campers can join up with a buddy or two and explore the lake from up above! It is peaceful and mellow- until a game of capture the flag in canoes gets going!	LARPING One of our weekly classes is a full blown adventure quest where campers can work throughout the week to discover the mysteries of a magical kingdom right here at camp!	CERAMICS Campers can sign up for this weekly class and learn to make their very own cup, bowl, plate or vase! We have several wheels and a kiln ready to go for this class!
BONGO For all the water lovers out there, the BONGO is the place to be on those hot summer days! Whether you enjoy bouncing, running in circles, or getting launched into the lake, the BONGO is fun for all our campers!	PARACHUTE GAMES The possibilities are endless with just a few friends and a parachute! Inside or outside these games are sure to engage campers of all ages to get some energy out!	INDOOR GAMES For campers who are looking for a more relaxing activity, we offer a wide variety of indoor games that allow campers to have some quiet time inside. Great for those super rare rainy days!
BINGO A camp classic! Who says bingo is only for our grandparents? Not us, that is for sure! Competing for prizes like a candy bar or camp stickers, bingo is an activity for all ages!	AND SO MUCH MORE! Every year our program changes based on the interests of our staff and campers. There are new classes being added all the time!
